Mythic (formerly Isocline), an Austin, TX and San Francisco, CA-based local AI platform provider, closed a $9m Series A funding.
The round was led by DFJ with a follow-on convertible note and participation from Lux Capital, Data Collective, and AME Cloud Ventures. In conjunction with the funding, Steve Jurvetson of DFJ and Shahin Farshchi of Lux Capital have joined its Board of Directors.
The company intends to use the funds to scale the organization’s engineering team and bring the product to market.
Co-founded by Mike Henry and Dave Fick, Mythic has developed a local AI platform, comprised of both hardware and software, that turns devices into secure intelligent assistants. Unlike cloud-based AI solutions, Mythic leverages local AI to enable consumer electronics, wearable and security and monitoring manufacturers to deliver integration and privacy demanded by consumers. Initial targeted markets include smart home, action cameras, healthcare systems, security and monitoring for commercial and home use and drones for industrial applications.
