PlaySight, a NJ-based sports technology company, received a strategic investment from Verizon Ventures and golfer Greg Norman.
The amount of the deal was not disclosed.
The company will use the funds to expand and roll-out of its SmartCourt technology into new sports verticals.
Founded in 2013 and led by Chen Shachar, CEO, PlaySight provides a cloud-based on-field multi-angle video and proprietary analytics platform that transforms every sports field, court and gym into a smart, connected space and helps athletes of all levels train smarter. In the tennis marketplace, the technology powers federations, academies, clubs and over 40 NCAA tennis programs, as well as the USTA’s new National Campus in Lake Nona, Florida.
PlaySight is also working with top teams across several other sports including the 2015 NBA Champion Golden State Warriors.
