SnappCar Raises €10M in Funding

SnappCar, an Utrecht, The Netherlands-based peer-to-peer car sharing startup, raised €10m in funding.

The round was led by Europcar Group, a vehicle rental service company, which made a 20% minority investment in the company. Europcar joined existing shareholders AutoBinck Group and Founders, Danish startup studio.

The company intends to use the new capital to expand geographically within Europe and further improve and innovate its platform usage and services for its members.

Founded in 2011 by Victor van Tol, CEO, SnappCar is an international peer-to-peer car sharing player with more than 250.000 customers sharing over 30.000 cars available on its platform. Today it is available in the Netherlands, Denmark and Sweden with the intention to expand to new markets.

The company also has offices in Stockholm and Copenhagen.
