Carbice, an Atlanta, GA-based startup that manufactures advanced materials for effective thermal design of electronic devices, raised $1.5m in seed funding.
The round was co-led by TechSquare Labs and GRA Venture Fund. The raise also brings former Porex Corporation CEO Bill Midgette to the Board of Directors.
The company will use the funds to launch its tape with select early customers.
Led by Bara Cola, Founder and CEO, Carbice has launched a versatile thermal tape for the electronic packaging industry designed to replace existing heat dissipation products with a solution that serves as a new high-performance platform for building future generations of electronic devices. Early applications include advancing satellite development, semiconductor test, and home gateway products.
Spun out of Georgia Tech’s Institute for Electronics and Nanotechnology, Carbice is a member company in the Advanced Technology Development Center’s ATDC Accelerate portfolio at Georgia Tech.
