Streamroot, a Paris, France and New York-based developer of distributed over-the-top (OTT) video delivery solutions, secured an additional $3.2m in funding.
Backers included Partech Ventures, Techstars Venture Capital Fund, Verizon Ventures and R/GA.
The company, which has raised $6m in total financing, intends to use the funds to accelerate development and expand its reach globally.
Founded in early 2014 by CEO Pierre-Louis Theron, Streamroot provides innovative OTT video optimization technologies for content publishers, network service providers and enterprise customers offering cross-device compatibility across desktop, mobile and a range of set-top boxes.
The company’s technologies are based on open standards such as WebRTC, Media Source Extensions and HTML5, and are widely adopted by broadcasters around the world.
