Humatics Corporation, a Cambridge, Mass.-based company developing microlocation products, completed a $18M Series A financing.
The round was led by Fontinalis Partners, with participation from Airbus Ventures, Lockheed Martin Ventures, Intact Ventures, Tectonic Ventures, Presidio Ventures, Blue Ivy Ventures, Ray Stata, Andy Youmans, and others.
The company will use the funds to develop and commercialize its microlocation system and analytics software.
Founded in 2015 by David Mindell, chief executive officer, and Gary Cohen, president and chief operating officer, Humatics provides the Spatial Intelligence Platform™, a microlocation system and analytics software platform that enables people and machines to locate, navigate and collaborate.
A single Humatics system, using radio-frequency technology, can pinpoint multiple, moving transponder targets at ranges up to thirty meters with millimeter-scale precision. These systems can network together to provide broader, ultra-precise positioning coverage – from factory work cells to entire distribution centers and beyond. With its architecture and application programming interfaces (APIs), the Spatial Intelligence Platform™ will power an ecosystem of new position-based products and services.
