Owl Ventures Closes Second EdTech Venture Capital Fund, at $185M

Owl Ventures, a San Francisco, CA-based education technology venture capital firm, closed its second fund, at $185M.

Limited Partners include investors across the U.S., Asia, Europe, Middle East and South America consisting of endowments, foundations, family offices, strategic education partners and a sovereign wealth fund.

The capital will be used to lead investments in education technology startups that are harnessing the new wave of entrepreneurship and innovation across the education spectrum including early childhood, K-12, higher education and career mobility/professional learning.

Led by Jed Smith, Managing Director, Tory Patterson, Managing Director, Amit Patel, Partner, and Tom Costin, Partner, Owl Ventures is venture capital firm that invests in leading education technology companies.
The team has deep domain expertise that allows the firm to cultivate a focused network of entrepreneurs, investors and strategic partners that aim to improve education tools, technology, outcomes and share best practices and learnings across the portfolio, which includes Accelerate Learning, DreamBox Learning, Newsela, RaiseMe, Quizlet, Lingo Live, Piper and Tinkergarten.

The firm has $285 million assets under management across two funds.
