Heyou Media Holdings, Inc., a Seattle and Bellevue, WA-based new media content company, secured an additional investment of undisclosed amount.
Backers included former Facebook and Amazon executive Rudy Gadre, who will also join Pearl Jam manager Kelly Curtis, Xbox Co-Creator Ed Fries, and global business executive Douglas Shinsato on Heyou Media’s advisory board.
In addition, experienced filmmaker, writer and producer Warren Etheredge has been appointed to Heyou Media’s core team as VP of Curation and Acquisitions for the company’s worldwide content library.
The funds will be used to support productions, marketing, content acquisition and distribution deals.
Founded in late 2016 by actor and filmmaker Tom Skerritt, Heyou Media curates, aggregates, develops and distributes new media visual entertainment content, including music, short-form video, web series, virtual reality and special interest videos. In addition to “Widow Walk,” the company is co-producing David Guterson’s “East of the Mountains,” Skerritt’s PTS-focused “What We Came to Be” and the “Stroller Gangs” web series.
Rudy Gadre is a partner at Seattle-based venture capital firm Founder’s Co-op. He also served as Vice President and General Counsel of Facebook, where he was responsible for all of the company’s legal matters, beginning in January 2006.
Prior to that he had a long career at Amazon, where he was Vice President and Associate General Counsel for Business Development, New Technologies and Intellectual Property.
