ETHERA, Grenoble, France-based start up developing high-performance solutions for gas measurements, has raised €1.2m in its first round of funding.
Investors include CEA Investissement and Emertec.
The company intends to use the funds to advance industrialization and commercialization of its colorimetric diagnostic kits for chemical pollution of indoor air, which are based on proprietary technology developed in the Laboratory Francis Perrin (CEA / CNRS).
Focused on the detection of harmful and carcinogenic pollutants as Volatile Organic Compounds (e.g. formaldehyde, benzene), ETHERA’s products target indoor pollution diagnosis in public/private buildings and hygiene and safety related to worker’s exposure.
The commercialization of the company’s first products is scheduled for mid-2011.
