FuboTV, a NYC-based over-the-top internet television service that focuses primarily on channels that distribute live sports, raised $75m in Series D funding.
Backers included AMC Networks, 21st Century Fox, Luminari Capital, Northzone, Sky, and the former Scripps Networks Interactive, which was acquired by Discovery, Inc.
The company intends to use the funds to expand its office space grow its engineers and product team, open a second headquarters, develop new products and content and to extend its marketing efforts.
Led by David Gandler, Co-Founder & CEO, FuboTV is a video streaming startup broadcasting most NFL, MLB, NBA and NHL games, all major soccer leagues, and a wide range of college and other sports. The company also broadcasts a wide variety of movies and entertainment programming including the FOX and NBC broadcast catalogs, Showtime, AMC.
The service can be accessed on multiple platforms, including web, Android, iOS, tvOS, Fire TV, Android TV, Roku and Chromecast.
