Vend, a New Zealand-based online pos software start-up, has raised a “significant” amount of funding.
The round was led by Point Nine Capital, with participation from European investors.
The company intends to use the funds to accelerate its international growth, expand its New Zealand-based development team and open a San Francisco sales office.
Led by founder & CEO Vaughan Rowsell, Vend provides web-based POS (point of sale) software that allows retailers to process sales, track inventory, and manage customers. The HTML5 retail POS works on any device or platform, including iPad, or even existing POS hardware.
Customers include high street fashion chains, young hip boutiques, mom and pop stores, and franchise networks. The software is used in more than 80 countries.
