Health Benefits Company League Raises C$62M in Funding

League LogoLeague Inc., a Toronto, Canada-based digital employee health benefits platform, raised C$62m in funding.

The round was led by Telus Ventures, with participation from Wittington Ventures, and existing investors OMERS, Infinite Potential Group, RBC Ventures, Real Ventures and BDC Ventures.

The company intends to use the funds to scale with the opening of new offices in San Francisco, New York and London to bring its platform to employers globally, and continue to invest in its member experience.

Founded in November 2014 by Mike Serbinis, founder and CEO, and Brian Ancell, U.S. president, League is a cloud-based digital benefits platform for the modern workforce, which connects businesses and their employees with health insurance, flexible spending accounts, health content, curated health journeys and on-demand, live health support.
The company launched in the U.S. market in 2017, and is now licensed to operate in all 50 states. In 2019, League will begin operations in the UK and EU.
