PowerInbox, a Boston, MA-based platform that allows users to run apps Facebook, Twitter, Groupon and Google+ inside their email messages, has raised an additional $800k in seed funding.
It adds to a $1.1m the company announced in August (read here).
Matt Thazhmon, Founder & CEO confirmed me the long list of investors mentioned by TechCrunch yesterday (read the article), which includes: Longworth Venture Partners, Atlas Venture, Egan Managed Capital, Correlation Ventures, Founder Collective, Ecosystem Ventures, Cloud Capital Partners and angels Christopher Lynch, Michael Mark, Praveen Gollapudi, Mike Santullo, Mark Rose, Ted Chan, Alan Phillips, Peter Bordes, Mike Dornbrook, Russ Wilcox, Eric Scott, Ed Chalfin, Eric Groves, Greg Cangialosi, Leslie Murdock, Philipp Stauffer, Joe Caruso, Dan Peterson, Jerril Jacob, Tim Barton, etc.
According to Matt, the company plans to use the funds to expand the team in Cambridge (http://www.powerinbox.com/jobs).
Powerinbox’s service enables users to run apps from inside their email messages. It currently works on Gmail, Hotmail, and Yahoo Mail with Outlook coming soon.
