Leal, a Bogota, Colombia-based loyalty startup, raised US $3m in funding.
Backers included FCP Ventures of EPM (Empresa de servicios públicos de Medellín y Colombia).
The company, which has managed to raise more than US $5m, intends to use the funds to accelerate plans to expand in Central America starting with El Salvador and Panama.
Co-founded by Florence Frech and Camilo Martinez, Leal is a large loyalty network in Colombia with more than 450 affiliated brands and more than 1 million registered users, which can enjoy the reward programs in a single app.
By integrating with the POS payment terminals of each point of sale, Leal captures transactional data and turns it into analytics. Businesses can identify their customers, their frequency of visits and average purchase tickets, as well as the brand perception.
The system also allows brands to send customized and automatized messages to their customers through SMS or email.
