Unibuddy, a London, UK-based edtech startup, secured $5m in Series A funding.
The round was led by Fred Destin of Stride VC.
The company intends to use the funds to:
- grow the team, which currently spans 4 continents,
- focus on US expansion, and
- create new products.
Led by CEO Diego Fanara, Unibuddy is an edtech peer-to-peer company which allows students to find where they belong through sharing their experiences and universities to recruit their best-fit students. A widget on an institution website allows prospects and ambassadors to chat and foster a sense of belonging – even before applying. The startup, which is working with over 150 institutions worldwide, recently announced a partnership with the UK Admissions Service, UCAS.
