Mux Raises $20M in Series B Funding

muxMux, a San Francisco, CA-based cloud video infrastructure company, raised $20m in Series B funding.

The round was led by Evolution Media, with participation from Accel, and Y Combinator.

The company intends to use the funds to invest in sales & customer success, R&D, and the developer community.

Founded in 2015 and led by CEO Jon Dahl, the startup develops infrastructure and monitoring tools for developers and publishers of online video. Mux Video allows developers to work with video through an API-first platform that provides encoding and streaming technology, optimized by data and machine learning, with a few lines of code. Mux Data is a video analytics product that monitors billions of video streams for some of the largest video companies in the world including CBS Interactive, PBS, Vimeo, TED, and Udemy to measure the Quality of Experience of every stream including startup time, rebuffering, video quality, and playback failure.
