William Hill US, a global sports book operator, finalized the purchase of CG Technology to further expand its presence on the Las Vegas Strip.

For more than a decade, CG Technology was one of the largest licensed bookmakers in Nevada and operator of sportsbooks at seven prime Las Vegas resorts, many of them on the world-famous Strip and all within easy reach of the city’s millions of annual visitors. The company launched a mobile gaming app and in-running wagering, among other innovations.

The close of the deal – first announced in November 2019 – followed the approval from Nevada. Effective September 1st, 2020, the CG Sportsbooks listed below were acquired by William Hill Race & Sports Books:

  • The Venetian Resort
  • The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas
  • Silverton Casino Resort
  • Tropicana Las Vegas
  • Palms Casino Resort Spa

The deal does not include the CG Sportsbooks at M Resort (closed in 2019) and the former Hard Rock Hotel & Casino (closed in early 2020).

Beyond table games, slots, electronic table games, the new offerings include self-service kiosks, an expanded wagering menu featuring LIVE InPlay Wagering on the app and over the counter, and rewards club offers.

Commenting on the deal, Joe Asher, CEO of William Hill US, said:

“William Hill has long been the leading sports book operator in Nevada. This acquisition further expands our footprint, giving us a bigger presence on the Las Vegas Strip at several world-renowned resorts. It’s a very exciting time for our company as we continue to grow and introduce our offerings to new customers.”
