Outrider, a Golden, CO-based provider of autonomous yard operations systems for logistics hubs, closed a $65m Series B funding round.
The round was led by Koch Disruptive Technologies (KDT) with participation from NEA, 8VC, and Prologis Ventures and new investors Evolv Ventures, the investment arm of Kraft Heinz, and Henry Crown and Company.
The company, which has raised $118m to date, intends to use the funds to expand operations and its business reach.
Led by Andrew Smith, Founder and CEO, Outrider provides autonomous yard operations for logistics hubs, helping large enterprises improve safety and increase efficiency. The company offers an integrated, three-part system that includes management software, autonomous vehicles, and site infrastructure. The system moves trailers to and from loading docks and parking spots, hitches and unhitches trailers, robotically connects and disconnects trailer brake lines, inventories trailer locations, and centrally monitors and controls all functions.
Since announcing its seed and Series A financings in early 2020, Outrider has expanded its customer base, completed multiple pilot programs, and broadened its intellectual property portfolio. The team has grown to more than 110 employees focused on key system capabilities, including controls, computer vision, motion planning, robotic manipulation, cloud computing, functional safety, and multi-robot orchestration.
