PopSQL, a San Francisco, CA-based provider of a collaborative SQL editor for data teams, raised $14M in Series A funding.

The round was led by Tiger Global, with participation from Gradient Ventures (Google’s AI-focused venture fund), FundersClub, and Y Combinator.

The company intends to use the funds to continue to expand operations and its business reach.

Led by Rahil Sondhi, Founder and CEO, PopSQL provides a Collaborative SQL editor for teams which allows members to write queries, visualize data, and share results. With PopSQL, users can understand their data model, write version controlled SQL, collaborate with live presence, visualize data, share results, and organize foundational queries for search and discovery. Even if a team is already leveraging a BI tool or a variety of SQL editors, the platform enables collaboration between SQL power users, junior analysts, and less technical stakeholders who need data insights.

Now, over 2,000 companies use the tool globally – including Vroom, Redfin, Shipt, Udacity, Ramp, and doodle.
