GameGround, a New York-based developer of a personalized gaming app that connects players of all types, has raised $ 5.3m in a Series B funding round.
Investors include Sequoia Capital, Softbank Capital, Vodafone Ventures and Novel TMT Ventures.
The company, intends to use the funds to build service and app features. GameGround has also unveiled the app and service publicly to players in open beta testing on www.gameground.com.
At the launch of the open beta, GameGround supports web games, Facebook ® games, PC games, offering players new missions, rewards, high score incentives and ways to share success amongst friends.
It will add support for games on the Xbox 360® videogame and entertainment system in an upcoming release.
In conjunction with the financing, Ron Fisher, Managing Director of Softbank, has joined GameGround’s Board of Directors.
