Loveseat Raises $7M in Series A Funding

Loveseat, an Austin, TX-based provider of an eco-friendly online marketplace for home goods, raised $7M in Series A funding.

The round was led by Bessemer Venture Partners with participation from Gokul Rajaram, Gabriel Weinberg, and Kal Vepuri.

The company intends to use the funds to accelerate executive hiring capabilities, expand to every major market nationally, and transition to a direct-sourcing model.

Co-founded by CEO Chris and CTO Jenny Stanchak, Loveseat is an online auction marketplace offers a platform for consumers to buy local returned and overstock home goods at a discounted price. It is primarily focused on prioritizing the consumer experience – with thousands of new listings each week, the competitive auction-style model allows users to bid on high-quality items, saving on the original retail price.

Loveseat currently operates in Southern California and Austin, Texas and plans to open numerous locations within Texas, Florida, and the Bay Area.
