Workorder, a Los Angeles, CA-based construction technology startup, raised $1.1M in Pre-Seed funding.
The round was led by UBMB and Mucker Capital. Spencer Gaffney from UBMB has joined Workorder’s board of directors, in conjunction with the funding.
The company intends to use the funds to launch of its software for the construction industry.
Led by Marty Cornish, CEO, and Henric Harutunian, CTO, Workorder provides a software platform for construction estimating, which uses image recognition, deep learning, and optical character recognition, among other technologies, to automatically detect, measure, and count objects in construction blueprints. The system has been operating in a private beta with many of the largest construction companies in North America, including DPR Construction, PCL, and Performance Contracting, Inc (PCI).
Currently, Workorder supports interior finishes: paint, drywall, metal framing, and acoustical ceilings. As the company expands, additional construction areas will be added.
