Avicena Raises $25M in Series A Funding

AvicenaTech Corp., a Mountain View, CA-based leader in microLED-based chip-to-chip interconnects, secured $25M in Series A funding.

Backers included Samsung Catalyst Fund, Cerberus Capital Management, Clear Ventures, and Micron Ventures.

The company intends to use the funds to scale its team and build initial products based on its photonic I/O solution.

Led by Bardia Pezeshki, Founder and CEO, Avicena is developing ultra-low energy optical links based on mircoLEDs. These interconnects offer class-leading bandwidth density and energy efficiency for medium reach. Applications include chip-to-chip interconnects in HPC, AI/ML, and memory disaggregation, as well as next generation links in sensors, 5G wireless and aerospace.
