EcoMotors International, a Allen Park, Michigan-based developer of clean and lightweight diesel engine technology, has raised $32.5m in Series C financing.
The round was led by Braemar Energy Ventures with participation from existing investors Bill Gates and Khosla Ventures.
The company intends to use the capital to expand research and development efforts.
Led by Don Runkle, CEO, EcoMotors is developing a multi-fuel family of engines (Opposed-Piston-Opposed-Cylinder opoc®) for use in GenSets, commercial vehicles, cars, light trucks, aerospace, marine, agriculture, auxiliary power units, etc.
In conjunction with the funding, Braemar Managing Director William D. Lese will join EcoMotors’ Board of Directors..
