Flock, a London, UK-based insurtech company using real-time data to enable and incentivise safer driving, raised $38M in Series B funding.
The round was led by Octopus Ventures, joined by CommerzVentures, as well as all existing institutional investors including Social Capital (led by Chamath Palihapitia), Dig Ventures (the family office of MuleSoft Founder Ross Mason), Anthemis, and Foresight Ventures.
The company intends to use the funds to expand into new segments of the commercial motor industry as well as new geographies.
Co-founded by Ed Leon Klinger (CEO) and Antton Pena, Flock is a digital fleet insurance company that provides connected vehicle fleets (cars, vans, and trucks) with insurance that proactively enables and incentivises safer driving. The company leverages millions of miles of driving data, environmental data, accident and crime data to accurately predict, price, and reduce vehicle risks.
Today, it works with more than 600 commercial fleet customers, including Jaguar Land Rover, Europe’s largest electric car subscription company Onto, and a third of the UK’s independent Amazon fleets.
