Nomic AI, a NYC-based AI explainability and accessibility startup, raised $17m in Series A funding.
The round was led by Coatue with participation from Contrary Capital, Betaworks Ventures, SV Angel, Story Ventures, and Factorial Capital.
The company intends to use the funds to expand operations and its development efforts, doubling down on their commitment to open-source.
Led by Brandon Duderstadt, Founder & CEO, Nomic AI provides:
- Atlas, which let’s anyone interact with multi-million point unstructured datasets of text and embeddings, and
- GPT4All, which lets anyone run large language models on resource constrained devices.
The company is also accelerating work with industry partners such as open source giant MongoDB, and open source machine learning leader Hugging Face, to create and distribute rich, interactive data visualizations to help everyone understand the data going into their AI systems.
