thredUP.com, a San Francisco, CA-based online children’s clothing platform, has raised $14.5m in Series C financing.
The round was led by Highland Capital Partners, with participation from existing investors Trinity Ventures and Redpoint Ventures.<
In conjunction with the financing, Dan Nova at Highland will join the Board of Directors.
The company intends to use the capital to scale supply, operations and distribution, and to expand to other resale verticals like teen, maternity and adults.
Co-founded by CEO James Reinhart, Oliver Lubin and Chris Homer, thredUP allows users to buy second hand kids clothes from families who send in their outgrown children’s clothing in pre-paid “clean out” bags. The company’s proprietary technology is used to automate the clothing evaluation, itemization and photography process.
The company is hiring (http://www.thredup.com/about/jobs).
