Rocky Road Games, a Reykjavik, Iceland-based gaming startup, raised $3M in Seed funding.
The round, which brought the total amount to $5.2M, was led by Luminar Ventures, with participation from existing investors Crowberry Capital, Sisu Ventures, David Helgason, founder of Unity, and Matthew Wilson, a former Rovio executive.
The company intends to use the funds to develop its social gaming network.
Founded by Thor Fridriksson, Vala Halldorsdottir and Sveinn Davidsson, Rocky Road is advancing a social gaming network that focuses on nurturing real-world social connections among players. The social gaming network is currently in stealth mode.
The founding team are industry veterans in gaming with 10+ years experience working together in delivering multiple hit mobile games such as QuizUp — a trivia game that amassed over 100 million users globally.
