Adionics, a Paris, France-based company developing an eco-friendly liquid-liquid direct lithium extraction (DLE) process, raised $27M in Series B funding.
Backers included SQM, Bpifrance, Supernova Invest, Céleste Management and Ovive.
The company intends to use the funds to accelerate its commercial expansion, R&D efforts, and workforce growth.
Led by Gabriel Toffani, CEO, Adionics has been advancing a closed-loop, liquid-liquid extraction process that recovers lithium salts from various brines, including continental, geothermal or produced water. Its technology uses the Flionex® system, a customized fluid that acts like a key to unlock and extract lithium without the need for traditional reagents. This patented process achieves high lithium recovery rates with minimal water usage and environmental impact.
