Storemates, a London, UK-based online service that connects people who want to rent their extra space with people with storage space, recently raised £40k in equity crowdfunding.
34 backers acquired a 10% stake in the company via Seedrs.
The company intends to use the funding to expand its marketing efforts and further develop the payment process of the platform.
Led by Shaff Prabatani, Jay Bryan and Ben Rogers, Storemates allows users to rent out all or their space (including a garage, loft, wardrobe or spare room to people searching for storage in their local area). Users can search for storage space for free. The service charges an initial one off admin fee (equivalent to two weeks rent) to the storage provider once they have successfully rented out their space.
