Power Assure, a Santa Clara, CA-based supplier of Dynamic Data Center Optimization software, has received a $1.5m strategic investment from ABB, a provider of power and automation technologies that enable utility and industry customers to improve their performance while lowering environmental impact.
ABB Technology Ventures, which made the investment through its venture capital arm, joined Good Energies, Point Judith Capital, and Draper Fisher Jurvetson, which previously invested $11.25m.
This brings the total amount raised by the company to $20.25m, which also includes $5m from the Department of Energy to further the development and adoption of Power Assureās power optimization software in commercial and government data centers.
This additional investment will also be used to expand the company’s sales and commercialization initiatives for its data center optimization solutions, currently in production at large enterprise and government data centers to provide real-time and historical insight into power utilization and other key performance indicators (KPIs).
