Med ePad Limited, a Liverpool, UK-based startup that has developed an interactive touch screen mobile internet device for healthcare service providers, raised an additional £150k in funding.
The capital was provided by the North West Fund for Digital & Creative, managed by AXM Venture Capital, and the management team.
The company, which was also backed by the North West Fund for Biomedical, managed by SPARK Impact, intends to use the funding for ongoing trials of the Med ePad system with customers within the NHS through to full scale commercial implementation later in 2013.
Founded by Rob Connell and led by new chairman Tom Nawojczyk and new chief executive officer John Hopkins, Med ePad has created an interactive touch screen mobile internet device for healthcare providers which aims to bring financial savings and enhance the quality of patient care.
The 7-inch tablets, which are loaned to patients, empower them to manage their self-care and address problematic areas such as missed appointments rates, post operative care and the management of long term condition sufferers.
