Holidu, a Munich, Germany-based vacation rental company, acquired Clubrural, a Madrid, Spain-based provider of a portal for rural vacation rentals in Spain and Portugal.
The amount of the deal was not disclosed.
With the acquisition, Holidu will expand its offerings.
Founded in 1997 by Javier De La Cruz, Clubrural specilizes in booking of vacation rentals in the Iberian Peninsula, with a particular focus on rural tourism. Since then, the platform has grown to a portfolio of 28,000 vacation homes and apartments in Spain and Portugal attracting more than 15 million website visitors every year. Over 15,000 hosts rent out their accommodation via the portal.
Founded by brothers Johannes and Michael Siebers in 2014, Holidu is a vacation rental company that offers software and service solutions for hosts to generate bookings. Landlords have access to software and receive personal support from local travel experts. The company has 25 European branches and already manages over 37,000 properties with a presence across Europe and five branches in Spain (Mallorca, Barcelona, Tenerife, Alicante, and Malaga).
