Orca Fraud, a Cape Town, South Africa-based startup that works with banks and fintechs in emerging markets to fight various types of fraud, raised $550K in Pre-Seed funding.
The round was led by Norrsken22 with participation from First Circle Capital, Musha Ventures, Kara Ventures and others.
The company intends to use the funds to expand its team and build, validate and iterate on their fraud and compliance products.
Founded in January 2024 by Thalia Pillay and Carla Wilby, Orca aims to empower fraud analysts and compliance officers with the tools they need to combat various types of fraud. The company leverages its deep knowledge in fraud prevention and payment technology to develop solutions that safeguard both conventional and decentralized financial systems – all through one central AI-driven fraud orchestration platform.
