Vestec, Inc., a Waterloo, Ontario, Canada-based developer of Artificial Intelligence technologies, secured a $1.5m equity investment from V. Raman Kumar.
Kumar, who also joined the company’s Board of Directors as Vice Chairman, is the founder and former CEO of MModal, a clinical documentation company and pioneer of voice-based medical transcription. He will also oversee the development of products and services for the global industry with a special focus on healthcare.
Led by Dr. Fakhri Karray, primary Founder and Chairman, a renowned expert in the field of computational intelligence at Canada’s University of Waterloo, Vestec develops solutions that enable sophisticated speech-based user interfaces in all major languages across a wide variety of business processes.
