FreeWill Acquires Grant Assistant

-

FreeWill, a NYC-based social-good enterprise at the nexus of philanthropy and estate planning, acquired Grant Assistant, a Washington, DC- and Lahore, Pakistan-based provider of an AI-based platform designed to improve the grant proposal process.

The amount of the deal was not disclosed.

With the acquisition, FreeWill will expand its offerings. Grant Assistant’s full team, located in Washington, D.C. and Lahore, Pakistan, will remain part of FreeWill, whose employee footprint for the first time will span beyond the United States.

Launched in early 2024 by CEO Mustafa Hasnain, Grant Assistant leverages technology to create grant proposals in one-third of the time by melding specialty skills with AI. Grant Assistant features a process where organizations can generate summaries of RFPs, use templates to generate proposal structure, brainstorm and integrate program ideas, generate accurate and relevant content, and conduct a comprehensive compliance review before submitting their proposals.

FreeWill is a social-good enterprise offering online tools that empower users to address estate planning needs and make charitable donations in tax-advantaged ways, all for free. Through its partnerships with 1,500+ nonprofits, the company is also able to provide a comprehensive suite of estate planning and related tools to consumers free of cost.
