Cafeteria Raises $3M in Funding

Cafeteria, a Los Angeles, CA-based developer of a brand survey app for teens, raised $3m in funding.

The round was led by Collaborative Fund and Imaginary Ventures with participation from Bertelsmann, and Guy Oseary.

The company intends to use the funds to expand operations and its development efforts.

Led by CEO Rishi Malhotra, chief business officer Mark Silverstein, and chief design officer Leeann Sheely, Cafeteria is building a production platform which delivers real insights from real teens who are at the center of what brands do.

It allows users to get understand a brand’s target audience, their demographics, psychographics, preferences, and behaviors, measure the loyalty of the teen audience and understand participation of teens with content, campaigns and platforms, get first person evaluations of marketing efforts, online and in-store customer experiences, campaigns and other initiatives, assess perception, reputation and sentiment of teens through customer satisfaction scores and product reviews, understand a brand’s market landscape, competitive positioning, and industry trends with competitive analysis.

Since soft-launching in August 2024, [cafeteria] has on-boarded teens across 60 cities in the U.S. The teens are talking about more than 200 brands on the platform, generating more than 30,000 insights around Brand Alignment, Audience, Purchase History, Market Positioning, Share of Wallet, Influencers and Competitors across lifestyle, fashion, beauty, food, personal finance and automotive.
