E-Car Club, Ltd, a London, UK-based electric car club, raised £100k in equity crowdfunding.
63 backers acquired a 20% stake in the company via Crowdcube.
The company intends to use the capital to expand operations, including establishment of additional hubs in Southern England and development of strategic partnerships.
Founded in September 2011 by Andrew Wordsworth and Christopher Morris, E-car is developing a network of fully electric vehicles in docking stations across selected urban and suburban districts. It is also funded via a £50k investment from Sustainable Venture Development Partners and a £24k grant from the Technology Strategy Board.
