Skytree, a San Jose, CA-based developer of a Big Data predictive analytics solution, raised $18m in Series A funding.
The round was led by U.S. Venture Partners (USVP), with participation from new backers UPS (NYSE: UPS) and Scott McNealy, co-founder and former CEO of Sun Microsystems and Chairman of Wayin and existing investors Javelin Venture Partners and Osage University Partners. In conjunction with the funding, USVP General Partner Rick Lewis has joined Skytree’s Board of Directors.
The company intends to use the capital to expand its engineering and sales efforts.
Led by Martin Hack, President, CEO and Co-Founder, Skytree provides organizations with a machine learning platform to discover analytic insights, predict future trends, make recommendations and reveal markets and customers.
