Cartesia, a San Francisco, CA-based provider of an AI powered voice generation platform, raised $64m in Series A funding.

The round was led by Kleiner Perkins, with participation from Index Ventures, Lightspeed, A*, Factory, Greycroft, Dell Technologies Capital, and Samsung Ventures.

The company, which has raised a total of $91m, intends to use the funds to expand operations and its business reach.

Cartesia provides a real-time AI voice generation platform that enables developers and businesses to integrate natural-sounding speech into applications such as virtual assistants, customer support, and content creation. Used by over 50k customers, the tool enables users to generate seamless speech, power voice applications, and fine-tune their own voice models.

The founding team includes Karan Goel, PhD, CEO, Albert Gu, PhD, CSO, Arjun Desai, PhD, Brandon Yang, Chris Ré, PhD, and Animesh Bohara.
