ScoreBig, a Los Angeles, CA-based new members-only site offering tickets for sports, concert and theater events nationwide, held a $14m first closing of its Series B financing.
The round was led by U.S. Venture Partners, with participation from existing investor Bain Capital Ventures. This financing brings the total amount raised by the company to $22.5m.
Founded in 2009 by CEO Adam Kanner, and COO and CTO Joel Milne, ScoreBig represents a new channel within the live entertainment industry designed to help owners of unsold inventory (Venue owners, sports teams, producers, promoters) fill seats.
According to a written statement, ScoreBig members currently have access to more than half a million tickets to thousands of events – all below retail price. Every ticket offered by the site is below retail, includes free delivery and is 100% guaranteed. Membership is free but by invitation only.
ScoreBig advisors and individual investors include Gideon Yu, Shari Redstone, Michael Bronner, and Finn Wentworth.
