Morphlabs, a Los Angeles, CA-based provider of OpenStack solutions for service providers and the enterprise, secured $10m in Series D financing.
The round, which brings the total capital raised by the company to date to $22.5m, was led by Tallwood Management and Entropy Research Lab with participation from existing investor Global Gateway Investment Group.
The company intends to use the funds to extend its position in the Asia OpenStack market.
Founded in 2007 and led by Satoshi Konno, co-founder and GM of Asia Operations, Morphlabs provides mCloud solutions that integrate compute, storage and networking to deliver efficient open source cloud.
The company’s solutions are based on OpenStack, the open source cloud operating system which is growing in Asia among enterprises and service providers.
To expand in Asia (where it already has operations in the Philippines, Japan and Singapore), Morphlabs is launching a series of OpenStack training programs throughout the continent over the next three months, beginning in Manila on September 17th and also including Jakarta, Singapore, Cebu and Hong Kong. The seminar in Manila will be followed by an OpenStack Hack-a-thon called StackHack. The winning team at StackHack will be invited to attend the OpenStack Summit in Hong Kong later in 2013 by Morphlabs and NEC. NEC, the provider of communications technology and services, last month signed a partnership with Morphlabs to deliver pre-configured and certified mCloud Solutions with NEC Express 5800 servers.
