Sepior, a Copenhagen, Denmark-based secure multiparty computation (MPC) startup, raised a seed funding round of undisclosed amount.
Backers included SEED Capital and DTU Symbion Innovation.
The company intends to use the funds to further develop its technologies and products
Led by Nicolaj H. Nielsen, CEO and co-founder, and Jakob Pagter, CTO, Sepior provides a solution for protecting data in the cloud against hacking. It is based on a type of encryption known as secure multi-party computation (MPC), which allows calculation on encrypted data.
The company is finishing development of its first product, which will be launched commercially early in 2014. It has also initiated negotiations on license agreements with cloud suppliers who want to implement Sepior’s MPC technology in their products.
Alexandra Instituttet A/S is a co-founder in the company.
