Gobstopper Raises $1.8M in Seed Funding

-

Gobstopper, a San Francisco, CA-based digital reading platform for teachers and their students, raised $1.8m in seed funding.

The round was led by Relay Ventures, with participation from Reed Hastings and New Schools Venture Fund, Kapor Capital, Sand Hill Angels, and Garnett Ventures. In conjunction with the funding, Kevin Talbot, co-founder and Managing Partner of Relay Ventures, will be joining Gobstopper’s board of directors.

The company intends to use the funds to accelerate new product and app development.

Led by Jason Singer, founder and CEO, Gobstopper provides a digital reading platform that enables teachers to place questions, explanations, quizzes and rich media directly into reading materials. The solution is free for all teachers and students and is available for any browser-enabled device. It includes access to hundreds of free public domain titles.

Gobstopper is being used by teachers in over 2,200 schools.
