Comprimato, a Brno, Czech Republic-based provider of JPEG2000 GPU-based compression solutions, raised €200k in seed funding.
Backers included Prague-based venture capital firm Credo Ventures and Y Soft Venture Capital, the venture arm of Y Soft focused on seed funding.
The company intends to use the funds for international sales and product offering expansion.
A spin-off from a Prague-based research institute CESNET, Comprimato has developed a compression solution based on existing mainstream graphics processing units that delivers fast JPEG2000* compression. Co-founded by Jiri Matela, CEO, and Michal Krsek, Director of Business Development, the company is headquartered in Brno’s South Moravian Innovation Centre.
