Forus Health Pvt. Ltd., a Bangalore, India-based provider of ophthalmic solutions, raised $8.2m in Series B financing.
The round was led by Asian Healthcare Fund, with participation from existing investors Accel Partners and IDG Ventures India.
The company intends to use the funds to consolidate supply chain and sales channels, as well as to develop new products.
Founded in 2010 by Dr. Shyam Vasudeva Rao (President and Chief Technology) and K. Chandrasekhar (CEO), Forus Health specializes in preventive eye care. Its flagship products, 3nethra Classic and Royal 3nethra, allow preliminary screening of five eye disorders that together contribute nearly 90% of the rate of blindness in India. It serves clients in India and abroad, in 14 countries worldwide.
