Meican.com Closes $10M Series B Funding

Meican.com, a China-based online food ordering service, closed a $10m Series B funding.

The round was led by Nokia Growth Partners with participation from previous investor Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers. In conjunction with the funding, David Tang, director, general manager and partner of NGP, will join Meican.com’s board of directors.

The company intends to use the funds to recruit people, improve products and add merchants.

Led by Zhao Xiao, CEO, Xu Yang, joint founder, Ren Zili, responsible for team’s offline operation in Babytree and Hu Guowu, Meican.com operates a website of online food ordering featuring nearly 30,000 restaurants in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen.

The company had previously obtained the series A investment in millions dollars from KPCB and angel investment in million yuan from Xu Xiaoping’s ZhenFund.
