Codasip, a Brno, Czech Republic-based application specific processor design tool and IP provider, closed a $2.8m in its first funding.
The round was led by Credo Ventures, a venture capital firm based in the Czech Republic, with participation from multiple private investors.
The company intends to use the funds to further develop its technology (accelerating the existing product roadmap for electronic design automation EDA tools, as well as expanding the range of Codix IP cores that it will bring to market) and enable international expansion.
Formed in 2006 and led by Karel Masarik, CEO, Codasip provides IP and EDA tools that enable adoption of Application Specific Instruction Set Processors (ASIP’s), which utilize dedicated instructions to accelerate software and are at the core of applications that require very high performance with low power (mobile devices, the internet of things (IoT) and personalized medicine).
The company, which currently has offices in the US and Europe, recently released version 2.0 of the Codasip Studio ASIP platform.
