CertiVox, a London, UK- and San Francisco, CA-based provider of authentication and encryption solutions, raised $8m in Series B funding.
Backers included NTT DOCOMO Ventures and existing investor Octopus Investments.
The company, which has now raised $17m, intends to use the funds to expand its sales, business development and marketing efforts, and continue to drive partnerships with cloud service providers, OEM channels including smart device manufacturers and mobile service operators, and ISVs.
Led by Brian Spector, CEO, CertiVox provides the M-Pin Strong Authentication Platform, a software-based multi-factor authentication solution that replaces password-based authentication without the need for third party authentication devices. It offers password-less, two-factor authentication without tokens. Suited for smart devices, M-Pin can be embedded into software, hardware and can leverage Trusted Platform Modules (TPM).
