Distil Networks, an Arlington, VA-based provider of a bot detection and mitigation platform, raised $10m in Series A funding.
The round was led by Foundry Group and Techstars’ Bullet Time Ventures, with participation from ff Venture Capital, IDEA Fund Partners and Militello Capital. In conjunction with the funding, Ryan McIntyre of Foundry Group and Bullet Time Ventures’ David Cohen will join Distil Networks’ Board of Directors.
The company intends to use the funds to continue to grow as it opens new offices in Raleigh, North Carolina and San Francisco, California.
Founded in 2011 by Rami Essaid, CEO, Distil Network provides a global, cloud-based bot detection and mitigation system that incorporates a large bot-fingerprint database with technology that identifies and tracks non-human web traffic in real-time to help hundreds of organizations ranging from Fortune 500 companies to startup ventures protect their websites from malicious bots, malware, and competitors that try to scrape or copy data without permission.
The company currently has 25 employees and expects to double its headcount in the next seven months.
